While there is still plenty of snow up in the high altitudes and ski tours are still possible, spring has already arrived here and down in the valley with a vengeance. The fruit trees are blooming, fresh green adorns meadows and forests, and during the day you can sit comfortably in the beer garden or sunbathe. Because here we are on the south side of the Alps, in a sunny southern location, where daytime temperatures of over 20 degrees are not unusual, even on the mountain.

You can start hiking straight from our sunny mountain house (marked red in the photo) and enjoy the colors and scents of the mountain spring. Down in the valley of the Obere Möll, a crystal-clear mountain river, you can leisurely hike for hours or cycle on well-maintained cycle paths. If you want, an extension is of course also possible without any problems.
Especially in spring, countless flowers sprout in the meadows and on the edges of the forest, and the fruit trees on the farms, especially apples, plums and wild cherries, are in full bloom. Here in our Hohe Tauern National Park you can still find many wildflowers that are unfortunately already extinct elsewhere.
Your dog will also be thrilled. In spring, the exciting smells and sounds of nature reawakening are particularly intense, and the mild temperatures are ideal for your furry friend. Of course he also gets a special spring treat!
If you're looking for a special Instagram motif: The glacier ski area on the Mölltal Glacier is also open in summer.
